HISTORY:
Psilocybin, or "magic", mushrooms, have like peyote been used for
centuries by the Native American culture. Found in a variety of
environments, this drug type usually produces similar effects as LSD, but
not quite to the same degree. Possessing two active ingredients, psilocybin
and psilocyn, mushrooms are also usually ingested, though just as peyote it
may be dried and smoked.INFORMATION:
Psilocybin is the major psychoactive agent in psilocybin mushrooms.
The main difference between psilocybin and psilocin is their relative
stabilities...psilocin is much more easily oxidized, so deteriorates much
more quickly than psilocybin.
