Two arrested in Howland
crack house after complaints

HOWLAND - Calls from concerned neighbors earlier this year led to the arrest
Wednesday of two men at a Carriage Hill Drive residence on several
drug-related charges.
"There was a crowd of about 30 onlookers" when the arrests were made about 2
p.m., Howland police Chief Paul Monroe said. "They were cheering and
thanking us multiple times.
''We're very pleased. We hope it puts an end to the problem."
After a monthlong joint investigation by Howland police and the Trumbull and
Geauga Law Enforcement Task Force, Gerald Bradley, 65, 8420 Carriage Hill
Drive, and Jonathan Stringer, 39, 3944 Sunnybrook Drive, were taken into
custody.
Police said they'd been trafficking crack cocaine out of the home. TAG
officials said several charges would be filed today in Warren Municipal
Court, likely for drug possession, drug trafficking and permitting drug
abuse, among others.
Monroe said the department received complaints from neighbors in the
Carriage Hill area, which lies in an affluent area of the township between
Niles Cortland and Howland Wilson roads. TAG officials said there were
several neighborhood complaints, including of heavy traffic at the
residence.
Surveillance was set up and police became involved with TAG on the
investigation.
A small amount of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia was seized, officials
said.
Two females - including a 17-year-old female runaway juvenile residing there
- were in the home during the raid, but neither were arrested, police said.
Previously, a police from April states that someone entered the home and
stole about $30,000 in gold and diamond jewelry.
