WARREN — Arraignments are scheduled in Newton Falls Municipal Court next week
for four men arrested in a drug raid at a Lordstown home. Trumbull County
Sheriff Thomas Altiere and Geauga County Sheriff Daniel McClelland said during a
Friday press conference that all of the men are facing felony charges.
Terrance Blackshere, 25, Joseph Pirtz, 29, and Adam Gumont, 27, are charged with
aggravated trafficking. Michael Horvat, 23, is charged with trafficking.
Addresses for the four men were not available. They are in the county jail.
Law enforcement officials recovered 115 pounds of suspected marijuana during a
raid Thursday at a home on Tod Avenue.
Agents from the Trumbull, Ashtabula and Geauga Drug Task Force and the High
Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force out of Arizona made the find about 5
p.m. Thursday. Officials from the state Bureau of Criminal Identification and
Investigation and the Lordstown Police Department assisted. The raid was the
result of a six-week investigation, officials said. Numerous items were
seized, including several scales, drug paraphernalia and $42,000 in cash,
Altiere said.
What began probe the investigation started after law enforcement officials found
out that 115 pounds of suspected marijuana was to be delivered to the Lordstown
home. Agents secured a search warrant from common pleas court. They entered the
home and interrupted the drug sale, officials said.
"Everyone did a lot of work on this case, and we are very proud of these
officers," Altiere said.
The TAG Law Enforcement Task Force was formed by Altiere, McClelland and Sheriff
William Johnson of Ashtabula County about a year ago. The task force is funded
by a grant through the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services.
