Howland man pleads
innocent to drug trafficking
January 24, 2010 |
HOWLAND — Kenneth D. Thomas, 31, of 2740 Orchard St.,
arrested Tuesday in connection with sale of heroin, has pleaded innocent to
aggravated drug trafficking.
Thomas is being held in the Trumbull County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
The Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force and Howland police
conducted a raid on Thomas’ house after investigating heroin distribution to
various parts of Trumbull County from the house for a month, a TAG news
release says.
Thomas was arrested at the home, where police also found a woman and
indications that a child had been living there. Trumbull County Children’s
Services was notified to check on the child.
Officers found dog feces throughout the home and a broken septic line in the
basement with sewage on the floor.
The home is one of many rental homes throughout the county where drug sales
are being conducted — a problem TAG is trying to address, TAG said.
Thomas returns to Warren Municipal Court at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 21 for a
preliminary hearing.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
