From a press
release, TAG, the Trumbull, Ashtabula, Geauga law enforcement task force,
arrested Adel A. Yazidi in Bristol Township Friday on three charges of
attempted murder. Ashtabula County sheriff's deputies and TAG officers later
confiscated an SKS semiautomatic assault rifle from an Ashtabula County
property where Yazidi recently resided.
Indiana State
Police in LaGrange County, Ind., advised the Trumbull County 911 center
earlier that day to be on the look out for Yazidi, who was suspected of
being in the area. The suspect was listed as armed and dangerous. Trumbull
County Sheriff's Department searched the city of Warren and Southington
Township but didn't locate Yazidi.
Later
information indicated the suspect could be in Ashtabl1la County. At 8:10
p.m., members of TAG spotted the suspect's vehicle in Ashtabula County and
trailed it to Bristol Township in Trumbull County. Officers from Champion
Police Department, Ashtabula and Trumbull county sheriffs' deputies, and
members of the task force stopped Yazidi and took him into custody without
incident.
A female
resident at the Ashtabula County property where the assault rifle was
confiscated also was arrested and charged with obstruction related to the
case. Officers noted Yazidi's birth date did not match the date on his
driver’s license, which showed Sept. 11, of al1 dates. Other documents taken
during the arrest showed various spellings of his name, also. Yazidi, who
was born in Yemen, was wanted in Indiana on three charges of attempted
murder. Authorities there will pursue his extradition from Ohio back to
Indiana to face charges.
