PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- A former village councilman in
northwest Ohio has been sentenced to 120 days in prison for possessing
marijuana.
Larry Buck, a two-term councilman in Madison, also must serve three years of
probation, attend substance-abuse counseling and perform 200 hours of
community service, Lake County Common Pleas Judge Paul Mitrovich ruled
Friday.
Buck, 51, pleaded guilty in August in exchange for prosecutors dropping a
drug trafficking charge against him.
Investigators found 2 pounds of marijuana in Buck's truck and in a safe in
his garage when he was arrested in January, authorities said.
A two-term councilman, Buck resigned after pleading guilty. He owns a carpet
cleaning business and several buildings in downtown Madison, about 38 miles
northeast of Cleveland.
